UV and PDA works on same principle and both are used to identify and quantify the compounds by seperation technique
The difference between UV and PDA is that UV detector can be used for identifying maximum with two wavelengths whereas PDA can identify the whole UV and visible range
Both have photomultiplier tubes to detect the compound
UV detector can be used only for 2 wavelenghts as maximum where the PDA can be used for identifying the whole range of UV.
we can also use 3D processing in PDA. In UV detector, we have no such possibility
Where as you can get only 2D chromatogram in UV detector but in PDA detector, you can get both 2D and 3D.
By enable respective sections.
Although the principle used is same in both.
