Reconstitution is the process of restoring a substance—usually a powdered or dehydrated form—back to its original liquid or usable state by adding a solvent, typically water.
Reconstitution is the word used for formulations like FOR INJECTION FORMULATIONS
As we know, for injections are parenterals formulations.
These formulations are in general formulated as solid formulations by Lyophilisation techniques.
However, those formulations should be liquified before injecting as a medication
To make these liquification, the medications are turned into solution form.
A desired solvent, in general water for injection is used as solvent.
During adding the solvent to medication, the vial or container into which the solvent is adding must be shaken for a period of time to make it's a clear solution
The process of making the solid dosage form of for injection into liquid formulation is called Reconstitution and the time taken for formation of Reconstitution is called Reconstitution Time.
Thank you sir
