Input + Generation = Output + Consumption + Accumulation
* Input: Mass of reactants entering the system.
* Generation: Mass of products formed within the system through chemical reactions.
* Output: Mass of products leaving the system.
* Consumption: Mass of reactants used up in the reactions.
* Accumulation: Net change in mass within the system over time.
Inorder to calculate Mass balance , we need to know the impurities percetage of Control as well as degradartion sample and the Assay of respective samples.
Once you know the above mentioned particulars, using the formulae we can calculate Mass Balance
Mass Balance = Sum of impurities and Assay of degradation sample/Sum of impurities and Assay of control sample*100
By using above formulae, we ca calculate the Mass Balance of the respective degradation sample.
For example
Percentage of impurities of Control sample is 0.25
Assay of Control sample is 99.6
Summation =99.6+0.25 = 99.85
Percentage of impurities of Degradation sample is 3.26
Assay of Degradation sample is 96.0
Summation =96.0+3.26 =99.26
Then the Mass Balance = 99.26/99.85*100 = 99.4%
