In simple terms, the sink condition refers to a situation where the dissolution media and the conditions of dissolution allow your drug to dissolve effectively without reaching saturation.
For example, you have placed a tablet of 10mg in your bowl and maintained your dissolution conditions as mentioned.
As long as the dissolution runs, the drug released in the bath is disintegrated and dissolved in the bowl at a certain rate.
You have achieved 100% recovery at a certain point and still, the drug has shown no saturation.
This shows that your dissolution media is capable of dissolving your drug at 100% and achieving recovery. The condition at which the achievement of your media of 100% Recovery is called a sink condition.
As long as the drug is released into the media, the drug dissolves and has shown no saturation. The condition of achieving no saturation of the drug is called the Sink condition.
